Did it work?

There seems to be a problem with people who are not logged in being able to view pictures. WORKING on that.

Hey thanks for stopping by! As far as posting pictures, just click the "additional Options" drop down box below where you type your message. You should be able to upload pictures!

Also, there is a forum here where you can test out the forum software.

I'm new to the forum, but not to dachshunds! I was 6 when my family got our first, a red standard named Purtzel...then there was Lucifer, then Missy and Angel, then Dorey when we lost Angel due to illness, then...OH NO, I've forgotten the name of the little red mini male who fathered Missy's pups: Heather, Heidi, and Gus! I'm losing it! This is horrid, unthinkable, I've forgotten the name of one of our wieners! Sure it was back when I was still in junior high or high school a bazillion years ago, but...STILL!

Anyway, we lost that poor little guy due to illness as well when he was only 2, very sad...other than he and Angel, all our weenies lived to their late teens, and have been very, very loved.

Once I moved out of the house, and with extended stretches of unhappy wienerlessness as a result of renting to the unenlightened, I was finally able to adopt/rescue a beautiful red mini named Brassy whose human parents were moving to be closer to a cancer facility, a place that didn't allow pets. Soon after I adopted a brother and sister, Leisel and Reuben, and that was back in the 1970s...I still miss them all.

Two years ago after another long stretch of renting to the unenlightened I was given permission by the landlord, who had already tolerated my 3 cats, to have a dog, 'as long as it's no bigger than the cats.' After months of searching on the internet, I found and rescued two 5-year-old littermates, sisters named Sami and Angel, who are adorable, mischievous,  cuddly, sassy, and (sigh) not very sociable, but very much loved. I hope they, too, will be with me a very, very, long time!  Smiley

Nearly forgot...because I haven't figured out how to post pictures here yet, I am posting my Webshots home page which includes albums of, you guessed it, my doxies!

Dachshunds are quite susceptible to bad breath. Talk with your vet about a good teeth cleaner.

You may also want to consider a professional teeth cleaning depending on the amount of tartar build-up, as healthy gums are essential to a healthy doxie.

I have some Weiner Dog T-Shirts and other items (mugs, notebook etc.)

They are sayings like

"Have you seen my Weiner?"
"Stop Looking at my Weiner!"
"I'm the Weiner your mother warned you about!"
"Never Trust my Weiner!"

and more.
